Lighting in balance with nature: The Hoge Veluwe

In the middle of a Natura2000 sensitive area

In the heart of National Park De Hoge Veluwe, in the middle of a sensitive Natura2000 area, we have proudly realized our SolarWoodle lighting. Since early 2021, our Woodle™ Standards have been illuminating the parking lot, and in 2025 the project has been expanded with the Woodle™ Lantern, further contributing to sustainable and nature-friendly lighting.

At SolarWoodle, we believe that lighting should respect the power of night. As Bernard Wesseling aptly says, "As a lighting manufacturer, I actually bring darkness." With an ULR (Upward Light Ratio) of less than 1%, we prevent light pollution so that visitors can continue to enjoy the starry night sky.

Our fully in-house developed solar modules and software enable customization, without cabling or extensive work. Thanks to a carbon-neutral installation and the use of regional douglas wood, the Woodles contribute to circularity, sustainability, robustness and longevity.

With our NL Greenlabel A certificate and smart seasonal lighting control, we demonstrate that innovation and nature conservation can go hand in hand. We are proud to be, together with De Hoge Veluwe, an example that sustainable lighting and nature conservation come together perfectly.

What our customers say about our lighting solutions.

In National Park De Hoge Veluwe, our Woodle™ Standards and Lanterns have been lighting the grounds in a completely nature-friendly way since 2021. With cable-free installation, NL Greenlabel A and less than 1% ULR, we protect the vulnerable Natura2000 area.
At Kampong, we have had the opportunity to contribute to beautiful, sustainable projects on our property. For example, we took an important step toward safety with the installation of SolarWoodle lighting.
